Dr Reddy's confirms co waiting for nod for semaglutide injection in Canada

MUMBAI – Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd. Friday confirmed it is still awaiting approval for its semaglutide injection from Canada's healthcare regulator, Health Canada. The company got drug identification numbers for the injection from Health Canada on Apr. 22, it said in a notice to stock exchanges. Dr. Reddy's is in talks with the health authority to introduce the injection in the country, it said.
Dr. Reddy's issued the clarification after CNBC-TV18 Thursday reported citing sources that the company is awaiting approval for semaglutide in Canada. Shares of the pharmaceutical company had surged over 9% Thursday after the media outlet's report.
For the quarter ended December, the company's consolidated net profit was INR 12.1 billion and its revenue was INR 87.53 billion. At 1025 IST, shares of the company were down nearly 2% at INR 1,306.20 on National Stock Exchange. End
