Himadri Speciality begins operations at 200 tpa anode material mfg unit

NEW DELHI – Himadri Speciality Chemical Ltd. Thursday said it has commenced operations at its first anode material manufacturing facility in Hooghly, West Bengal. The facility has an installed capacity of 200 tonnes per annum.
"The facility is the outcome of over 10 years of in-house research and development, covering the entire anode technology value chain—from raw material processing to finished anode material," the company said in a filing. "This development strengthens the Company's differentiated capabilities in advanced battery materials, positioning it to address the accelerating global demand arising from electric vehicles (EVs) and energy storage systems."
The anode facility is part of the company's plans to set up manufacturing plant for lithium-ion battery components with annual capacity of 200,000 tonnes. The plan was first announced in December 2023 and the company had guided to complete it in phases over five to six years.
Thursday, shares of the company ended at INR 536.20 on the National Stock Exchange, up 2.5%. For the March quarter, Himadri Speciality Chemical reported a net profit of INR 2.01 billion on revenues of INR 12.88 billion. End
