India outstanding NRI deposits $167.58 bln in Feb, up $7.24 bln from yr ago

MUMBAI – Outstanding deposits by non-resident Indians rose to $167.58 billion at the end of February, up $7.24 billion from a year ago, according to provisional data released by the Reserve Bank of India on Thursday. The outstanding NRI deposits were $165.88 billion at the end of January and $160.34 billion a year ago.
Deposits in non-resident (external) rupee accounts were $99.77 billion at the end of February, up from $98.93 billion a month ago and $97.94 billion a year ago. Outstanding deposits in foreign currency non-resident (banks) accounts were $33.72 billion at the end of February, slightly lower than $33.75 billion a month earlier. Outstanding FCNR (B) deposits were at $32.49 billion a year ago. End
