--RBI OKs Debasish Panda's appointment as Bandhan Bank part-time chairman
MUMBAI – The Reserve Bank of India has granted prior approval for the appointment of Debasish Panda as part-time chairman of Bandhan Bank for three years, the bank said in a filing Wednesday. Panda's name will now be placed before the nomination and remuneration committee and then the board for approval.
Panda had served as secretary and chairman of the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India between 2020 and 2025. He also held the position of director on the boards of the RBI, State Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, and Life Insurance Corp. of India.
Bandhan Bank's net profit for the December quarter more than halved on year to INR 2.06 billion. The bank reported a total income of INR 61.22 billion for the quarter, down over 7% on year. Wednesday, its shares closed slightly higher at INR 176.52 on the National Stock Exchange. End
