NEW DELHI – In a statement Friday, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Tata Consultancy Services Ltd., K. Krithivasan, said the company has engaged the services of consulting firm Deloitte and law firm Trilegal as independent counsel to the investigation into the sexual harassment incident at its Nashik facility. The internal probe is being led by company Chief Operating Officer Aarthi Subramanian.

TCS has also constituted an oversight committee, chaired by independent director Keki Mistry. "The findings of the internal investigation will be presented to the oversight committee, for review and implementation of any recommendations," the statement, which was filed on the exchanges Friday, said.

Krithivasan said that Nida Khan, whose name has appeared repeatedly in press reports with the designation of human resources manager, held no such title or authority in the organisation. She served as a process associate and did not hold any leadership responsibilities, he added.

Nida Khan is one of the key people accused in the said forced religious conversion and sexual harassment case, which began with one complaint and later expanded into multiple first information reports. According to media reports, Khan's name came up in one of the FIRs for allegedly assisting one of the complainants in learning to observe Roza.

Krithivasan also denied media reports about the company's Nashik unit being shut down. "While detailed reviews are still underway, a preliminary review of the systems and records pertaining to the Nashik unit indicates that we have not received any complaints of the nature that are being alleged on either our ethics or POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) channels," he added.

The chief executive said TCS continues to extend full cooperation to the law enforcement agencies so that the matter is investigated thoroughly, transparently, and brought to a rightful conclusion. He added that the company holds itself to the highest standards of employee welfare and institutional conduct.

For the March quarter, TCS reported a consolidated net profit of INR 137.18 billion on a revenue of INR 706.98 billion. Friday, shares of the company ended flat at INR 2,581.50 apiece on the National Stock Exchange.  End
