KOLKATA – Trent Ltd. Friday said its board will meet on Wednesday to consider raising funds via rights issue, other methods apart from declaring the March quarter earnings. The company will also decide on issuing bonus shares and approving an employee stock option plan for eligible employees of the company, its associates and subsidiaries, through the issuance of new equity shares, subject to approval of the shareholders.

 

In a notice to the bourses, the retailer said its board will consider approval for raising additional funds through the issue of equity shares, through rights issue or any other permissible mode, subject to necessary approvals, as applicable. It will also decide on issuance and allotment of 740 equity shares pursuant to the rights issues undertaken by the company in the years 2005, 2007 and 2010, which were previously kept in abeyance as the title to the original shares was under dispute till recently.

 

For the December quarter, Trent had reported net profit of INR 6.40 billion on revenue of INR 52.59 billion. On Friday, the company's shares closed 0.6% higher at INR 4,107.70 on the National Stock Exchange.  End
