NEW DELHI – Ashok Leyland Ltd. on Thursday launched two twin-fuel variants of its light commercial vehicles--DOST and DOST+ XL. These models will allow seamless switching between compressed natural gas and petrol, the company said.
The ex-showroom price of the twin-fuel DOST model starts at INR 820,000, while that of the twin-fuel DOST+ XL model starts at INR 875,000, a release from the company said.
Amandeep Singh, president – light commercial vehicles at Ashok Leyland, said these products will offer customers unmatched flexibility and peace of mind as they come with a five-year warranty. "These vehicles empower operators to drive in the cleaner and greener compressed natural gas mode and switch to petrol as a backup fuel when required, ensuring overall lower operating costs and reduced emissions," he said.
The twin-fuel DOST will have a payload capacity of 1,218 kilograms, an extended driving range of 400 kilometres, with a large compressed natural gas tank of 120 litres and an additional petrol tank of 5 litres. The twin-fuel DOST+ XL will have a payload of 1,410 kgs, a compressed natural gas capacity of 148 litres and an additional petrol capacity of 5 litres, delivering a superior range of 500 kilometres.
At 1220 IST, shares of the company were up almost 0.4% at INR 176.25 on the National Stock Exchange. End
