Maximum temperatures in northeast India are likely to slowly rise by 3–2 degrees Celsius from Tuesday to Thursday, the weather bureau said. No significant change in maximum temperatures is expected over the rest of the country, the bureau said.

An east-west trough runs from northeast Uttar Pradesh to Manipur, and an upper air cyclonic circulation lies over central Assam. Under the influence of these weather systems, heavy rainfall is likely over parts of Arunachal Pradesh on Tuesday, Saturday, and Sunday, and over Assam and Meghalaya from Friday to Sunday, the weather department said. Light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds are expected over most parts of northeast India till Friday, the department said.

An upper air cyclonic circulation lies over northeast Bihar, while a north-south trough runs from northeast Bihar to south Tamil Nadu.
