--Royal Enfield launches electric motorcycle Flying Flea C6 at INR 279,000
NEW DELHI – Eicher Motors Ltd. Thursday launched its first electric motorcycle of the Royal Enfield brand, the Flying Flea C6, for INR 279,000 ex-showroom price in Bengaluru. It offers the battery-as-a-service variant at INR 199,000, the company said in an exchange filing.
The Flying Flea C6 weighs 124 kilograms, much lower than a petrol-fuelled Royal Enfield motorcycle, which can typically weigh at least 180 kilograms. "This is not just about going electric - it is about creating a new category of urban mobility that is rooted in experience, not just specifications or numbers," Royal Enfield's Chief Executive Officer and Eicher Motors' Managing Director B. Govindarajan said in a press release.
Bookings for the C6 motorcycle will begin Friday. The model will be launched first in Bengaluru and will be rolled out in other cities later. It will be offered in flea green and storm blac colours, the company said.
The motorcycle is equipped with a 3.91-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery and delivers 1 kilometre of range per minute of charging. It has a top speed of 115 kilometres per hour and a maximum torque of 60 nanometres.
For the quarter ended December, Eicher Motors had reported a consolidated net profit of INR 14.21 billion on a revenue of INR 61.14 billion. Thursday, its shares closed 0.2% higher at INR 7,147.50 on the National Stock Exchange. End
