MUMBAI – Bharat Forge Ltd. is looking to liquidate its German subsidiary, Bharat Forge CDP GmbH, as part of a proposal to restructure the subsidiary's steel forging operations. The company's board has tasked a sub-committee to evaluate and implement the subsidiary's liquidation. For this purpose, Bharat Forge has approved a financing arrangement of 30 million euros, or around INR 3.2 billion, the company said in a filing Thursday.
"The proposal may include an orderly winddown and solvent liquidation of BF CDP (Bharat Forge CDP), in accordance with applicable German laws," the filing said. "This is being considered in light of the market challenges and the associated cost disadvantages faced by BF CDP in Germany."
For the quarter ended December, Bharat Forge reported a consolidated net profit of INR 2.93 billion on revenues of INR 43.43 billion. At 1355 IST, shares of the company were down 2.5% at INR 1,737.50 on the National Stock Exchange. End
