NEW DELHI – The Ministry of External Affairs late Tuesday advised Indian nationals in Iran to "stay put" and avoid travelling unless in close coordination with the country's embassy in Tehran.
"In view of the rapidly evolving situation in Iran, Indian nationals who are currently in Iran are advised to stay put where they are, shelter in place and avoid further movements," the advisory read. "Any movement within Iran and to the border crossings of Iran may be considered only in close coordination with the Indian embassy in Tehran and after obtaining explicit guidance of the embassy", it added.
This comes after US President Donald Trump once again warned Iran to make a deal on Tuesday, saying a "whole civilization will die tonight" if an agreement is not reached to end the conflict.
The external affairs ministry also shared the Indian embassy's emergency helpline numbers -- +98 912 810 9115, +98 912 810 9102, +98 912 810 9109, and +98 993 217 9359. End
