Foreign Secy Misri to visit US Apr 8-10; trade, defence on agenda

NEW DELHI – Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri will visit the US from Apr. 8 to Apr. 10 "to review the full spectrum of India-US bilateral relations", according to an official statement on Tuesday. Trade, defence, and latest global developments are key topics on the agenda.
"During the visit, the foreign secretary will hold discussions with senior officials of the US administration on a wide range of issues, including trade, defence, science and technology, as well as regional and global developments of mutual interest," the statement said.
India is negotiating a crucial trade deal with the US. In February, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar had visited Washington D.C. The foreign secretary's visit "will advance ongoing cooperation across key areas", the Ministry of External Affairs said. End
