--Aurobindo Pharma: Arm's Xolair biosimilar phase 3 study results positive 

MUMBAI – Aurobindo Pharma Ltd. said in an exchange filing Mondat the phase-3 study of BP11, a biosimilar candidate to Xolair, showed positive results. Aurobindo's wholly-owned subsidiary, CuraTeQ Biologics Pvt. Ltd., is developing the drug. The study showed BP11's efficacy and safety were similar to Xolair when tested on patients with chronic spontaneous urticaria, the company said.

The company will detail the results in medical conferences. It plans to complete the filing of the drug with the US Food and Drug Administration and the European Medicines Agency by the end of the June quarter.  

A trial for BP11 was conducted on 608 patients across 80 sites in seven European countries and in India. It evaluated change from the baseline in the 7-point itch severity score at the 12th week which is the primary endpoint for approvals by both the US Food and Drug Administration and European Medicines Agency, Aurobindo Pharma said.

On Monday, shares of Aurobindo Pharma closed at INR 1,340.40, up 0.5%, on the National Stock Exchange. For the December quarter, the company reported a consolidated net profit of INR 9.10 billion on consolidated revenues of INR 86.46 billion.  End
