MUMBAI – Shree Cement Ltd. Saturday said it will set up an integrated plant in Meghalaya with a clinker capacity of 950,000 tonnes per annum and cement capacity of 990,000 tonnes per annum. The company expects to spend INR 18 billion for the plant and begin production by the March quarter of 2028.

 

The plant will be set up in Daistong village in East Jaintia Hills, Meghalaya. Shree Cement will finance the project through internal accruals and debt, it said in an exchange filing. 

 

Thursday, shares of Shree Cement ended nearly 1% lower at INR 23,125 on the National Stock Exchange. Equity markets were shut Friday on account of Good Friday. For the December quarter, the company reported a net profit of INR 2.79 billion on revenue of INR 44.16 billion.  End
