MUMBAI – Wipro Ltd. got an 8-year deal to provide transformation services to Olam Group, a Singapore-based company in the food and agri-business. The deal's contract value is expected to be over $1 billion and includes a committed spend of $800 million, Wipro said in an exchange filing on Monday.
Wipro will use its artificial intelligence-powered platform, Wipro Intelligence, to improve Olam Group's value chain. "This will focus on areas such as farming, forecasting, trading, supply chain operations, and customer engagement, with the goal of improving operational effectiveness, strengthening resilience, and supporting long-term growth at scale," the filing said.
Wipro plans to buy Olam Group's information technology services subsidiary, called Mindsprint, for $375 million. Wipro aims to complete the acquisition of Mindsprint by June. "By bringing Mindsprint's deep domain expertise and IP-led solutions, together with Wipro's consulting-led and AI-powered capabilities, we aim to unlock growth opportunities, catalyze innovation, and drive marketready transformation for Olam Group and our global clients across the industry." Wipro said.
For the December quarter, Wipro had reported consolidated net profit of INR 31.19 billion on revenue of INR 235.56 billion. Thursday, its shares closed nearly 2% higher at INR 194.91 on the National Stock Exchange. Equity markets were shut Friday on account of Good Friday. End
