Bias positive; BSE Telecom to find support at 2660

NEW DELHI – Analysts are positive on telecommunications stocks for the coming week. The BSE Telecommunication index is expected to find support at 2660 points and face resistance at 2800 points next week, Ganesh Angaj, head technical analyst at NVS Brokerage Private Ltd., said. Beyond these levels, Angaj pegged support and resistance at 2630 points and 2850 points, respectively.
Thursday, the key sectoral index ended at 2761.29 points, up 0.4%. This week was truncated, with holidays on Tuesday and Friday.
Data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India Wednesday showed Bharti Airtel Ltd. added the highest number of mobile users in February, followed by Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd. and Vodafone Idea Ltd. The other two major players, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd., continued to lose subscribers.
Bharti Airtel net added 4.86 million mobile users in February, up from 4.40 million in January. Reliance Jio net added 1.62 million mobile users in February compared with nearly 2.44 million in January. Vodafone Idea expanded its mobile customer base by 21,927 in February, compared with a net loss of 411,337 mobile users in January.
