NEW DELHI – Emami Ltd. Wednesday signed a definitive agreement to acquire the remaining 73.5% stake in Axiom Ayurveda Pvt. Ltd. The transaction, approved by its board, involves an aggregate consideration of up to INR 2 billion, Emami said in an exchange filing Thursday.

As part of the latest transaction, the company has acquired about 36.7?ditional stake in the first tranche. The total acquisition is expected to be completed in a phased manner over the next three months, as per the filing.
 

The overall deal size for 100% stake is around INR 3 billion, which will be funded through internal accruals, a company official said in response to a query by Informist.

 

"Axiom is a profitable and growing company, expected to achieve a topline of around Rs. 180 crore (INR 1.8 billion) in FY26. This aligns with our strategy of leveraging multiple growth levers, where strategic investments in newage, synergistic segments complement our core businesses to drive future growth," Emami Vice-Chairman and Managing Director Harsha Vardhan Agarwal said.

 

The company has onboarded Harkirat Bedi as chief executive officer of Axiom Ayurveda, as per the filing. Bedi was formerly vice-president and business head at Dabur Nepal Pvt. Ltd.

 

Axiom Ayurveda's portfolio includes beverage products under the brand "AloFrut", health juices under the brand "Axiom Jeevan Ras", and beauty products under the brand "Mukti Gold".

 

For the December quarter, Emami had reported a net profit of INR 3.19 billion on a revenue of INR 11.52 billion. Thursday, its shares ended over 1% higher at INR 398.30 on the National Stock Exchange.  End
