Power Grid wins bid to set up interstate transmissions system in Karnataka

MUMBAI – Power Grid Corp. of India Ltd. Wednesday said it won the bid to set up an interstate transmission system in Karnataka under the tariff-based competitive bidding framework. The company will build a 400 kilovolt direct current transmission, which will pass through Karnataka.
The project also includes works related to interconnecting transformers and line bays at a pooling station in Tumkur, Karnataka. It will be delivered on a build, own, operate, and transfer basis.
On Wednesday, shares of the company closed 1% lower at INR 292.80 on the National Stock Exchange. For the December quarter, the company reported a net profit of INR 41.60 billion on revenues of INR 110.05 billion. End
