Maruti Suzuki Mar output up 19% YoY at 231,933 units, led by utility vehicles

MUMBAI – Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.'s total production rose 19% on year to 231,933 units in March from 194,901 units in the year-ago period. The growth in output last month was mainly due to a sharp rise in output of utility vehicles such as Brezza, Ertiga, and e Vitara, among others.
Maruti Suzuki manufactured 102,622 utility vehicles in March, up over 42% from 72,158 units a year ago. The company manufactured 19,862 mini cars last month, up around 31% on year. The output of compact cars--Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis, Swift, WagonR, OEM Model--rose 2% on year to 92,421 units. The company did not manufacture any Ciaz, its only mid-size car, in March. In March 2025, it had produced 1,498 units of Ciaz.
Maruti Suzuki produced 3,991 units of light commercial vehicles last month, up from 3,721 units a year ago. For the December quarter, Maruti Suzuki had reported a net profit of INR 37.94 billion on a revenue of INR 498.92 billion. Wednesday, shares of the company closed 1.7% higher at INR 12,509 on the National Stock Exchange. End
