March UPI transactions hit record INR 29.53 tln, FY26 transactions up 21%

NEW DELHI – Unified Payments Interface transactions rose to a record high in March, both in volume and value terms, according to data released by the National Payments Corp. of India. UPI transactions rose 24% on year to 22.64 billion in March.
In value terms, the transactions increased 19% on year last month to INR 29.53 trillion. UPI transactions were 20.39 billion in February with a total value of INR 26.84 trillion.
In 2025-26 (Apr-Mar), UPI transactions worth INR 284.74 trillion were recorded, up 21% higher from FY25.
The average daily transaction count was 730 million in March, higher than the 728 million a month ago. The average daily transaction amount was INR 952.43 billion last month, lower than INR 958.65 billion in February, data showed. End
