Eicher Motors clocks highest ever monthly CV sales at 13,311 units in Mar

MUMBAI – Eicher Motors Ltd. Wednesday said it sold 13,311 commercial vehicles to dealerships in March under its joint venture with Volvo Group, VE Commercial Vehicles Ltd, up over 10% on year. This was the highest ever monthly sales in absolute terms since April 2020, when it had sold only 85 units, as per data available with Informist. This was also the highest sales for the month of March, data showed. The figure includes sales of 13,113 Eicher-made trucks and buses, up 10.6% on year, and 198 Volvo-branded trucks and buses, down 18%.
The company sold 12,706 Eicher-branded trucks and buses to domestic dealerships in March, up 13.6% on year. This includes 6,390 small commercial vehicles and light-medium trucks with a payload capacity below 18.5 tonnes, whose sales were up 28.6% on year. Sales of heavy-duty trucks grew nearly 18% on year to 3,623 units.
Exports declined nearly 39% on year to 407 units, with despatches declining for all categories--small commercial vehicles and light- and medium-duty trucks, heavy duty trucks, and buses. Among segments, exports of buses fell the most, declining 80% to 39 units.
In 2025-26 (Apr-Mar), VE Commercial Vehicles sold 103,495 units in India and overseas, up nearly 14.8% on year. This includes sales of 101,071 units of Eicher-branded trucks and buses, up 15.2% on year, and 2,424 units of Volvo-branded trucks and buses, down 0.5%.
For the December quarter, Eicher Motors had reported a consolidated net profit of INR 14.21 billion on a revenue of INR 61.14 billion. At 1445 IST, its shares traded 4.1% higher at INR 6,857 on the National Stock Exchange. End
