NEW DELHI - Sammaan Capital Ltd. has offered to acquire outstanding non-convertible debentures maturing up to Jul. 31 to optimise the company's debt structure. Sammaan Capital expects an upgrade in its credit rating following acquisition of controlling stake in the company by Dubai-based Avenir Investment RSC Ltd.
Avenir Investment RSC, an affiliate of International Holding Company PJSC, has invested INR 88.50 billion in Sammaan Capital by way of preferential issue for a 41.2% stake in the lender. "The equity infusion, the enhanced credit profile arising from IHC's backing, and the expected upward revisions to the company's credit ratings will drive a meaningful decline in Sammaan Capital's cost of funds and open access to significantly larger and longer-dated pools of capital," Sammaan Capital said in an exchange filing Wednesday.
For the December quarter, Sammaan Capital reported a consolidated net profit of INR 3.14 billion on revenue of INR 21.58 billion. On Wednesday, shares of the lender opened 3.6% higher at INR 155 on the National Stock Exchange. At 1225 IST, the shares were at INR 150.30, up 0.5%. End
