Adani Green Energy adds record 5 GW renewable energy capacity in FY26

MUMBAI – Adani Green Energy Ltd. Wednesday said it added over 5 gigawatts of renewable energy capacity in 2025-26 (Apr-Mar). Excluding China, this is the largest greenfield annual capacity expansion globally, the company said in a filing with stock exchanges. Adani Green Energy's total operational capacity now stands at 19.3 GW, and is expected to offset 10 million tonnes of carbon emissions annually, the comany said.
Of the total capacity addition in FY26, solar energy is the primary contributor, comprising 3.4 GW. Wind and wind-solar hybrid energy capcities made up 686 megawatts and 1 GW, respectively, Adani Green said. The total operational portfolio of 19.3 GW will offset 36 million tonnes of annual carbon emissions, the company added.
Most of the new capacity was operationalised at the company's Khavda facility in Gujarat. The Khavda project is built across 538 square kilometers, and the company installed 9.4 GW at the site, Adani Green said.
Adani Green Energy reported a consolidated net loss of INR 410 million, and a revenue of INR 26.18 billion in the quarter ended December. At 1047 IST, shares of the company traded 5% higher at INR 846.80 on the National Stock Exchange. End
