NEW DELHI – Escorts Kubota Ltd. Wednesday said its tractor and construction equipment business fared well in March but could face risks in the coming months due to war in West Asia. The company expects the agricultural momentum to continue in the coming months, but warned that the evolving situation in the Persian Gulf poses intermittent supply-side risks, including the potential unavailability of key fertilisers, which could impact Kharif crop preparedness.

"Demand (for construction equipment, in March) remained strong, supported by steady project execution and a strengthening order pipeline. Although ongoing global geopolitical tensions may induce some near-term supply chain uncertainty, however, domestic infrastructure activity and overall sentiment stayed largely intact," the company said in an exchange filing.

Its tractor despatches in March grew to 12,119 units, up 6.6% on year, on the back of sustained rural demand and the gradual onset of Rabi harvesting in select regions. Wholesale sales of tractors in India grew nearly 8% on year to 11,582 units in March, while exports fell a shade over 10% on year to 537 units. In the March quarter, the company sold 32,257 tractors, up 21% on year. In 2025-26 (Apr-Mar), its tractor sales grew 16% on year to 133,670 units.

"While harvesting activities experienced a slight delay due to recent rainfall, the overall Rabi outlook remains positive, aided by above-normal reservoir levels across the country," the company said.

The despatches of its construction equipment grew a staggering 25% on year to 765 units in March. In the March quarter, the company's construction equipment sales grew 9% on year to 1,877 units but in FY26, sales fell 11% on year to 5,794 units.

Escorts Kubota had reported net profit of INR 3.62 billion for the December quarter on revenue of INR 32.61 billion. At 0931 IST, shares of the company traded 3.9% higher at INR 2,847 on the National Stock Exchange.  End
