Fertiliser sector gas availability 80% of past six mo avg use, says govt

NEW DELHI - The fertiliser sector has natural gas availability at 80% of their past six month average consumption, following the procurement of 7.31 million metric standard cubic meters per day of gas through the empowered pool management committee's bidding process from Mar. 18-31, Minister of State Chemicals and Fertilizers Anupriya S. Patel said in a written reply to the Lok Sabha.
On Mar. 9, fertiliser plants were categorised as priority sector II, with gas supply maintained at approximately 65% of their past six-month average consumption subject to operational availability.
During Mar. 1- 24, about 1.35 million tonne domestic urea has been produced, Patel said. In addition, di-ammonium phosphate and single super phosphate production were reported at 762,000 tonnes and 306,000 tonnes, respectively.
Fertiliser stocks in the country as of Monday stood at 5.3 million tonnes of urea, 2.18 million tonnes of di-ammonium phosphate, 798,000 tonnes of muriate of potash, and 483,800 tonnes of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium fertilisers. End
