EIA says US natural gas stocks down 54 bcf in week ended Mar 20

MUMBAI – Natural gas inventories in the US fell 54 billion cubic feet in the week ended Mar. 20, according to data from the US Energy Information Administration. The inventory was 0.8% higher than the five-year average for this time of the year, the agency said in its weekly report Thursday.   

 

The total working gas in underground storage was 1.83 trillion cubic feet as of Mar. 20. The stocks were 14 billion cubic feet higher than the five-year average of 1.82 trillion cubic feet, the agency said.

 

Total working gas remained within the five-year historical range. The East, Midwest, and Pacific regions, as well as the Nonsalt region in South Central saw a fall in inventories, the agency said. Stocks in the Mountain region and the Salt region in the South Central saw a rise. At 0818 IST, the most-active May contract of natural gas on the New York Mercantile Exchange was up 0.2% at $2.926 per million British thermal units.  End
