Japan agency extends loans of INR 162.3 bln for 4 infra projects in India

NEW DELHI – The government of India has signed agreements with Japan International Cooperation Agency for 275.86 billion yen (about INR 162.32 billion) in loans for four infrastructure projects in different states. These projects aim to drive sustainable and inclusive development in agriculture, urban mobility, and healthcare, the agency said in a release Tuesday.

 

Under the Japanese Official Development Assistance loans, 62.29 billion yen will be used to strengthen healthcare infrastructure in Maharashtra and 18.68 billion yen will be used to promote sustainable horticulture in Punjab, the agency said. The funds will also support development of metro rail projects with 102.48 billion yen to be used for phase 3 of the Bengaluru metro and 92.40 billion yen for the Mumbai metro.  End
