MUMBAI –  The Reserve Bank of India has appointed Gopi Krishnan C.R., former general manager of Indian Bank, as the administrator of Irinjalakuda Town Co-operative Bank, effective Monday. The appointment follows Raju S. Nair expressing his inability to continue as the administrator, citing personal reasons, the RBI said in a press release.

In October, the RBI superseded the board of Irinjalakuda Town Co-operative Bank for 12 months and appointed Nair as the administrator following material concerns about the bank's poor financial condition and governance standards.

The central bank said there is no change in the committee of advisors to the administrator. The RBI is closely monitoring developments and will continue to take necessary steps in the interest of the bank's depositors, it said.  End
