MUMBAI – The Centre has successfully implemented the direct benefit transfer in fertilisers system to ensure efficient subsidy disbursal and availability to farmers, Minister of State for the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers, Anupriya Patel, said in a written reply to the Lok Sabha Friday.
Under this system, 100% subsidy on various fertiliser grades is released directly to fertiliser companies based on actual sales made to farmers through the Aadhaar-authenticated point of sale devices installed at retail outlets, it said. "This ensures that fertilisers are made available to farmers at subsidised rates while enabling transparency, real-time monitoring and efficient fund management," according to the release. Subsidy claims are processed on a first-in-first-out basis to ensure timely settlement, it said. End
