EIA says US natural gas stocks up 35 bcf in week ended Mar 13

MUMBAI – Natural gas inventories in the US rose 35 billion cubic feet in the week ended Mar. 13, according to data from the US Energy Information Administration. The inventory was 2.6% higher than the five-year average for this time of the year, the agency said in its weekly report.   

 

The total working gas in underground storage was 1.88 trillion cubic feet as of Mar. 13. The stocks were 47 billion cubic feet higher than the five-year average of 1.84 trillion cubic feet, the report said.

 

Total working gas remained within the five-year historical range. The Midwest and Pacific regions saw a fall in inventories, while stocks in the East region, Mountain region, and both Salt and Non-salt regions in the South Central region saw a rise. At 1149 IST, the most-active April contract of natural gas on the New York Mercantile Exchange was up 0.5% at $3.138 per million British thermal units.  End
