Indian cos' investment in overseas JVs, arms at $2.76 bln in Feb

MUMBAI – Foreign direct investment by Indian companies in their overseas joint ventures and subsidiaries fell over 23% on month to $2.76 billion in February, according to data released by the Reserve Bank of India Wednesday. Outward foreign direct investment by Indian companies was $3.60 billion in January and $4.30 billion in February 2025.
Of the total overseas investments in February, companies invested $1.11 billion as equity, lower than $1.71 billion invested the previous month. Companies committed $714.30 million in loans in February, against $424.51 million in January.
Companies also invested $936.93 million through guarantees to their overseas arms and joint ventures in February, lower than $1.46 billion a month ago. The data, based on online reporting by authorised dealer banks, is provisional and subject to change, the RBI said. End
