Bosch, Tata Autocomp to form JV to manufacture, sell, service EV components

MUMBAI – Bosch Ltd.'s board Wednesday has approved an agreement to form a 50:50 joint venture company with Tata Autocomp Systems Ltd. to manufacture, sell, and service components for electric vehicles. Bosch and Tata Autocomp Systems will each subscribe to and hold 50% of the share capital, the former said in an exchange filing. The Vehicle component manufacturers will sign a joint venture agreement Monday. The joint venture company will manufacture, sell, and service electric-axles and electric traction motors.
Bosch will provide engineering and development support to the joint venture company, while Tata Autocomp will manage operations, including procurement and administration. The manufacturers will initally invest a total of INR 1 million split equally between the two companies. The proposed investment for the joint venture is up to INR 940 million.
At 1218 IST, shares of Bosch traded at INR 31,125 on the National Stock Exchange, up 1.6% from the previous close. For the December quarter, the company reported a net profit of INR 5.32 billion on revenues of INR 48.86 billion. End
