MUMBAI – DCM Shriram Ltd. said its board approved investing up to INR 870 million in one or more tranches to purchase minimum 26% equity stake in one or more special purpose vehicles to be created to set up a renewable energy project for the company's Bharuch plant.
The board also approved capital expenditure of INR 1.30 billion to develop related infrastructure at the plant, the company said in an exchange filing Thursday. The company expects to complete the project around June 2027.
These investments will enable the company to get about 48 megawatts of additional renewable power supply at its Bharuch plant. The total renewable energy power provision for the plant will increase to 98.4 megawatts from the present peak provision of 50.4 megawatts.
For the December quarter, DCM Shriram had, on consolidated basis, reported a net profit of INR 2.12 billion on a revenue of INR 40.03 billion. Thursday, its shares closed 2.6% higher at INR 1,015.70 on the National Stock Exchange. End
