IMD sees heavy rainfall or snowfall over Arunachal Pradesh Thu-Sat

MUMBAI – The India Meteorological Department expects heavy rainfall or snowfall over Arunachal Pradesh from Thursday to Saturday and heavy rainfall over Assam and Meghalaya from Friday to Sunday. Similar conditions are also expected over Jammu and Kashmir Wednesday.
Scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorm and lightning is likely over Northeast India till Tuesday, with gusty winds of 30-40 kilometres per hour speed over Assam and Meghalaya from Friday to Sunday, the weather bureau said. Similar conditions are also expected over Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh from Friday to Sunday, over west Madhya Pradesh Saturday and Sunday, and over east Madhya Pradesh Sunday.
Light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorm and lightning and winds speeds reaching 30-50 kilometres per hour is seen over West Bengal and Sikkim till Monday, over Bihar Monday and Tuesday, over Jharkhand till Thursday, and over Odisha on Thursday and Sunday, the weather bureau said. Similar conditions are likely over Telangana Sunday, it added.
Meanwhile, heat wave to severe heat wave conditions are very likely in many places over Gujarat Wednesday, and over Saurashtra and Kutch till Thursday. The Met department expects heat wave conditions over pockets of Gujarat Thursday and Friday. Heat wave conditions are also likely in pockets of Vidarbha till Thursday. Hot and humid conditions are very likely to prevail in isolated pockets over Konkan on Wednesday, coastal areas of Gujarat and Kerala till Friday, and over coastal Karnataka till Thursday. End
