M&M Feb total vehicle despatches up 18% YoY at 96,718 units

AHMEDABAD - Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. Monday said its overall sales of vehicles, including utility vehicles, electric rickshaws, electric carts, and three-wheelers, rose 18% on year to 96,718 units in February, with production rising 13% on year to 94,550 units. The company's overall exports, including passenger vehicles and commercial vehicles, increased over 11% on year to 3,477 units, it said in a notice to stock exchanges.

 

Among utility vehicles, sales of the diesel version of Thar and Thar Roxx rose 30.6% on year to 9,968 units in February, while sales of the petrol version fell 33.2% on year to 1,079 units. Similarly, sales of the diesel and electric XUV 3XO and XUV 400 utility vehicles jumped up 64.5% to 3,393 units, even as sales of the petrol version fell 11.7% on year to 5,406 units.

 

The company's two other utility vehicles Bolero and Scorpio saw a 13.5% and 13.3% year-on-year rise to 9,863 and 14,275 units, respectively, in February. The company sold 7,349 diesel and 1,736 petrol XUV 7XO during month. The company had officially launched the XUV 7XO utility vehicle in January.

 

The company sold 309 e-rickshaws in February, down from 318 units sold last year. Among three-wheelers, the best seller for the company has been its electric Treo. It sold 7,606 units of the Treo in February, up from 4,567 units sold last year.

 

For the quarter ended December, M&M had reported a net profit of INR 39.31 billion on revenues of INR 385.17 billion. Monday, the company's shares closed 4.4% lower at INR 3,187.60 on the National Stock Exchange.  End
