PG Electroplast faces gas supply shortage amid ongoing conflict in West Asia

MUMBAI – PG Electroplast Ltd. Monday said it is facing a shortage of gas due to restrictions on maritime navigation in light of the ongoing conflict in West Asia. Due to these supply constraints, suppliers have limited the allocation of liquefied petroleum gas to PG Electroplast with effect from Monday, the company said in an exchange filing. 

 

"...in light of the recent ongoing war in the Middle East region impacting the gas supply scenario, the availability of gas has become severely constrained," the company said. 

 

The company is currently assessing the situation the situation to determine if any supply curtailment needs to be imposed on its downstream customers. Although the company said it cannot quantify the potential impact of the ongoing shortages, it is exploring alternative sources of supply to continue production as usual.

 

At 1206 IST, shares of the company fell 10% to hit lower circuit at INR 548.35 on the National Stock Exchange. For the December quarter, the company reported a net profit of INR 315.46 million on revenues of INR 3.67 billion.  End
