On Thursday, Petronet LNG Ltd. had issued notices of force majeure to its buyers GAIL (India), IOC, and Bharat Petroleum Corp. Ltd. This was after Petronet LNG received a force majeure notice from its LNG supplier QatarEnergy earlier this week. These developments are a consequence of supply chain constraints following the closure of Strait of Hormuz due to the ongoing hostilities between the US and Israel combine and Iran. This waterway is one of the the major routes through which oil and gas are shipped to the rest of the world.
