Telecom Stocks Outlook
Seen in range next week; may track broader market

NEW DELHI – Stocks of telecommunications companies are likely to trade in a range next week, analysts tracking the sector said. While the sector has seen improved financial performance in recent quarters, telecom stocks are likely to track the broader market in the coming week, said Sugandha Sachdeva, founder of equity and commodity research firm SS WealthStreet.
According to Sachdeva, Vodafone Idea is likely to find support at INR 9.40 in the coming week and see resistance around INR 10.60. Friday, the stock ended 1.6% lower at INR 10.06 on the National Stock Exchange. Bharti Airtel is expected to find support at INR 1,750 and encounter resistance at INR 1,930, according to Sachdeva. The stock ended Friday's session 1.9% lower at INR 1,870.80 after rising in the previous two sessions.
Friday, the BSE Telecommunication index closed 0.7% lower at 2935.40 points. The index ended three of the four sessions during the week in the red. Markets were closed on Tuesday for Holi.
