--Ircon Intl: Not in discussion related to merger with Rail Vikas
MUMBAI – IRCON International Ltd. Friday said it is not engaged in discussions or negotiations related to a merger with Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd. Earlier in the day, media reports had said the railway ministry had moved a formal proposal to merge the two central public-sector enterprises. The news report and any discussion relating to the merger are not based on information or details available with the company, IRCON International told the stock exchanges in a filing.
For the December quarter, IRCON International had reported a net profit of INR 911.8 million on a revenue of INR 19.65 billion. Rail Vikas Nigam had reported a net profit of INR 2.64 billion on a revenue of INR 45.04 billion. At 1518 IST, shares of IRCON International were up nearly 10% at INR 146.91 on the National Stock Exchange and shares of Rail Vikas were up 2.4% at INR 285.95. End
