MUMBAI – MRF Ltd. has signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding with the government of Tamil Nadu to set up a greenfield manufacturing facility for automotive and allied products at the state's industrial park in Sivaganga. MRF expects to invest INR 53 billion in the facility over a period of 12 years and provide jobs to around 1,000 people, the company said in an exchange filing Wednesday.

 

The agreement is subject to the approval of a customised incentive package, infrastructure support, which includes support for land, and statutory approvals by the Tamil Nadu government, the company said.

 

For the December quarter, MRF's net profit from continuing operations was INR 6.79 billion on a revenue of INR 79.34 billion. At 1222 IST, its shares were down nearly 3% at INR 135,110 on the National Stock Exchange.  End
