Tejas Networks launches three-rack data centre interconnect platform

MUMBAI – Tejas Networks Ltd. Tuesday launched a three-rack unit, TJ1600-D3, that will cater to the growing connectivity requirements of information technology companies. TJ1600-D3 is based on wavelength division multiplexing technology and is built for terabit-scale data centre interconnections, the company said in an exchange filing Tuesday.
TJ1600-D3 can transmit data at speeds ranging from 400 gigabits per wavelength up to 1.2 terabits per wavelength, while its shelf capacity can be scaled up to 51.2 terabytes per second. The product targets web-scale network operators, carriers, and cloud providers that are building larger data centres, artificial intelligence compute clusters, and edge AI nodes.
At 0947 IST, the company's shares were up 7% at INR 518.65 on the National Stock Exchange. For the December quarter, Tejas Networks had, on a consolidated basis, reported a loss of INR 1.97 billion on a revenue of INR 7.71 billion. End
