AHMEDABAD – TVS Motor Co. Ltd. Sunday said it sold 507,862 two-wheelers to dealerships in February, up 30% on year. This growth was led by a robust increase in sales of motorcycles as well as scooters, the company said in an exchange filing. Including three-wheelers, TVS Motor's February sales grew 31% on year to 529,308 units.
The company sold 365,471 two-wheelers to dealerships in India, up 32% on year. Its motorcycle sales grew 25% on year to 241,282 units and scooter sales grew 34% on year to 219,895 units. The company's three-wheeler sales jumped 77% on year to 21,446 units. TVS Motor sold 38,386 electric vehicles in February, up 60% on year.
Exports by TVS Motor in February fared well compared to the same month a year ago. The company sold 158,268 units overseas, up 27% on year. Of these, two-wheeler exports grew 23% on year to 142,391 units.
For the December quarter, TVS Motor had reported a net profit of INR 9.40 billion on a revenue of INR 124.76 billion. Friday, its shares had closed 2.1% lower at INR 3,869.70 on the National Stock Exchange. End
