--Tata Motors Feb total CV sales 42,940 units, up 32% on year

AHMEDABAD – Tata Motors Ltd., formerly TML Commercial Vehicles Ltd., Sunday reported 32% year-on-year rise in commercial vehicle wholesale sales in February to 42,940 units. The growth was driven by most segments, but especially by heavy commercial trucks and small commercial cargo and pick-up vehicles, the company said.

The domestic sales of Tata Motors rose nearly 33% on year to 40,893 units. Exports increased nearly 18% on year to 2,047 units.

The company's domestic heavy commercial vehicle sales rose over 37% on year to 13,559 units. Sales of intermediate, light, and medium commercial vehicle grew a little over 34% on year to 7,577 units. Passenger-carrier segment sales for the month rose over 27% on year to 5,548 units. Sales of small cargo and pick-up vehicles rose over 30% to 14,209 units.

Following the demerger of Tata Motors on Oct. 1, Tata Motors houses the commercial vehicle business and Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. houses the passenger vehicle business, including Jaguar Land Rover. Friday, Tata Motors shares had closed 2.8% higher at INR 505.30 on the National Stock Exchange.  End
