Tata Steel sells ferro alloy plant in Odisha for INR 6.1 billion

AHMEDABAD – Tata Steel Ltd. Friday completed the sale of its ferro alloy plant at Jajpur in Odisha for a base consideration of INR 6.1 billion to Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys Ltd., the Tata Group company said in a filing with the stock exchanges.

 

As per the filing, the base consideration is net of goods and services tax and excludes working capital. The sale was completed after receiving necessary regulatory approvals.

 

Tata Steel had made the decision to sell the plant public on Nov. 4 and said it expected to complete the sale in three months.

 

For the December quarter, Tata Steel had, on a consolidated basis, reported a net profit of INR 26.89 billion on a revenue of INR 570.02 billion. Friday, the company's shares ended 1.5% lower at INR 212.33 on the National Stock Exchange. Shares of Indian Metals ended 0.8% lower at INR 1,265.10.  End
