Bajaj Auto subsidiary KTM AG secures 550-mln-euro loan to refinance debt

MUMBAI – Bajaj Auto Ltd. Friday said its step-down subsidiary KTM AG has secured a 550 million-euro (around INR 59.08 billion) loan to refinance its existing debt with Bajaj Auto International Holdings B.V. The refinancing loan agreement is granted by an international banking consortium, Bajaj Auto said in an exchange filing.
The loan is unsecured, has a 5-year term, and bears interest in the low to mid-single-digit percentage range, Bajaj Auto said. With the signing of this loan agreement, the refinancing measures of KTM AG will be completed. During the term of the agreement, KTM AG is subject to market-standard restrictions on dividend distributions, the parent company said. As part of restructuring, Bajaj Auto International Holdings B.V., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bajaj Auto had provided KTM AG with a loan of 450 million euros in May to finance the restructuring plan quota.
For the quarter ended December, Bajaj Auto reported a net profit of INR 25.03 billion on a revenue of INR 152.20 billion. At 1052 IST, the stock was down over 1% at 9,976.50 on the National Stock Exchange. End
