Great Eastern Shipping gets contract to sell gas carrier in March quarter

MUMBAI – The Great Eastern Shipping Co. Ltd. signed a contract to sell a very large gas carrier called 'Jag Vishnu'. It will sell the carrier during the March quarter, the company said Tuesday.
Further, the company took delivery of 2013 South Korean built medium range tanker of nearly 51,565 deadweight tonnage called 'Jag Pranesh'. The company had signed a contract to buy the vessel in the December quarter. The purchase was financed entirely from internal accruals.
Post the delivery of tanker, the company's fleet has 41 vessels, comprising 27 tankers and 14 dry bulk carriers--aggregating to 3.25 million deadweight tonne. The company's current capacity utilisation is nearly 100%.
For the December quarter, the company reported consolidated net profit of INR 8.13 billion on revenue of INR 14.54 billion. Shares of the company closed at INR 1,323.20 on the National Stock Exchange, up nearly 2%. End
