--Eris Life, Natco Pharma partner for Semaglutide launch in India 

NEW DELHI - Eris Lifesciences Ltd. has partnered with Natco Pharma Ltd. to launch generic semaglutide in India, Eris Life said in an exchange filing Tuesday. Under the partnership, Natco Pharma will handle manufacturing of the drug, while Eris Lifesciences will commercialise it in India.

Semaglutide is a glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonist and it is used to manage type 2 diabetes. Natco Pharma has already received approval from the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation to manufacture generic semaglutide for the Indian market and the launch is expected in March, the filing said. 

For the December quarter, Eris Lifesciences reported a consolidated net profit of INR 997.20 million on a revenue of INR 8.07 billion. Natco Pharma reported a quarterly consolidated net profit of INR 1.52 billion on a revenue of INR 6.47 billion. At 1312 IST, shares of Eris Life traded 2% lower at INR 1,379 and those of Natco Pharma were down more than 4% at INR 929.30 on the National Stock Exchange.  End
