--HAL: No report of LCA Tejas crash, only minor technical incident on ground 

--HAL: Working closely with Indian Air Force for speedy resolution 

 

MUMBAI – Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. said there has been no crash reported of the light combat aircraft Tejas and all that had happened was a minor technical incident on the ground. The company was responding to media reports about the Indian Air Force grounding its entire fleet of around 30 single-seat jets for technical scrutiny. This came after a Tejas aircraft sustained major damage to its airframe after overshooting the runway at a frontline airbase following suspected brake failure earlier this month. 

 

"LCA Tejas maintains one of the world's best safety records among contemporary fighter aircraft," HAL said in a filing. The military aircraft manufacturer also said that as part of standard operating procedure, the issue is being analysed in depth and it will work closely with the air force for an immediate resolution. 

  

For the December quarter, Hindustan Aeronautics reported a net profit of INR 18.52 billion on a revenue of INR 76.99 billion. Monday, shares of the company ended 3.5% lower at 4,025.40 on the National Stock Exchange.  End
