MUMBAI – The National Stock Exchange is looking to add 200 co-locations racks every three months, taking total racks to 4,500 from 2,000 now, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Ashish Chauhan said at Stocktech 2026, an event organised by Association of NSE Members of India. With this, Chauhan said stock brokers should not have any shortage of co-location racks.   

 

Chauhan said brokers need to worry about protecting data of customers with advent of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act. "You can do anything real time, anything fast, but if you cannot protect your customers' data, the fines can be immense," MD said.

 

The NSE's response time to stock brokers is set to come down sharply to nanoseconds from 100 microseconds right now, Chauhan said. "All the tests have been done...speed is going to increase manifold, almost 1,000 times," he said.  End
