American Petroleum Institute bars Jindal Saw from using API monogram on pipes

MUMBAI – American Petroleum Institute restricted Jindal Saw Ltd. from using API monograms on the company's API seamless pipes after it found certain non-conformances in an audit, according to an exchange filing Wednesday. The API monogram implies that the product has been manufactured in compliance with global industry standards in terms of quality, safety and reliability. Jindal Saw said it will take steps to comply with API's requirements and till then, it has allocated capacity meant fot API pipes to other products.
"For the time being and pending revocation of the suspension, the Company has allocated this capacity for other products," Jindal Saw said. "Thus, the impact of the suspension may not be material."
For the quarter ended December, Jindal Saw reported a net profit of INR 2.27 billion on a revenue of INR 41.29 billion. On Wednesday, shares of the company closed at INR 187.23 on the National Stock Exchange, down 0.7% from Tuesday's close. End
